Western New York man accepts $1.35 million settlement cataract surgery results in loss of eye
A Great Valley mechanical engineer who was promoted to a more senior position by his employer, was unable to pursue the promotion when he lost his eye due to complications during cataract surgery performed by an Olean eye surgeon. After having his case rejected by two other lawyers, the man came to Francis Letro, who was able to demonstrate that the eye surgeon did not perform the cataract surgery properly, resulting in the loss of the 62-year old client’s eye. The loss of eyesight, forced Mr. Letro’s client into early retirement. The case settled at jury selection for $1,350,000.
